Van Eperen Public Relations Principal To Help Educate Business Leaders on Maryland Development Oct. 31
Laura Van Eperen To Speak on The Power of Public Opinion On Development

ROCKVILLE, Md. –Ever changing requirements can create a confusing landscape for those wishing to build in Maryland. Van Eperen Public Relations Principal, Laura Van Eperen, will join a panel of experts to help anyone interested in successfully navigating the complex development process at a daylong conference called “Navigate the Development Process Successfully in Maryland” from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The event will take place at the Holiday Inn Gaithersburg, located at 2 Montgomery Village Ave., Gaithersburg, Md. 20879.

The conference is geared for anyone interested in developing in Maryland including attorneys, CEOs, project managers, engineers, architects, developers, planners, real estate agents and brokers, lenders, surveyors, title officers, and land use officials. It will include sessions such as “Developing and Redeveloping Real Estate” and “Master Plans, Rezoning, Special Exceptions and Subdivisions” to equip attendees with current and useful strategies to deal with land development issues. The panel also will include moderator Tim Dugan, Attorney, Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker, P.A.; Edward Papazian, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.; and Timothy Quinn, Principal, Rogers Consulting, Inc.

Van Eperen, principal of Van Eperen Public Relations, www.vepublicrelations.com, a full service public relations firm located in Montgomery County, Md. specializing in developing custom communications programs that achieve renowned results., will conduct a session on how the “court of public opinion” can influence a project. The session will include when to contact a public relations professional, how to create strategic coalitions and how to work with the media.

“With each step in the process of developing land there is one more chance for land regulators to be discouraged by a negative public opinion of the project,” said Van Eperen. “It is important to know how to make use of a court of public opinion to gain project support.”

Van Eperen has worked with organizations in the past looking to expand or develop in communities, including a mid-Atlantic home building company that has successfully created neighborhoods and communities with a wide-range of housing options in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

“With so many factors to consider at every level of state and local government and often quite a bit of money at stake, it is important that those building or looking to build in Maryland come together to be aware of the latest issues and ways to ensure their project is a success,” said Van Eperen.

Continuing education credits are available in accordance with AIA Continuing Education System, CPDP, the Maryland Commission of Real Estate Appraisers and Home Inspectors, Construction Compliance Certification Program, and the Maryland Board for Professional Land Surveyors. There is pending approval for credits for the Maryland Insurance Administration.
