Van Eperen Public Relations Welcomes New Teaming Partners Upon Receiving MDOT MBE Certification

BETHESDA, Md. –Van Eperen Public Relations (VE PR), a full service public relations and marketing firm located just outside of Washington, DC, has been certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). This MBE/DBE certification was awarded by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT).

As an MBE/DBE, VE PR will be listed in the MDOT Minority Business Enterprise/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Directory. This Directory is used by prime contractors and consultants seeking minority subcontractors and consultants to perform work on projects led by the Department/Agencies of the State of Maryland and Federal Agencies.

The Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Program is an outreach program designed to expand opportunities for minority owned companies. The enterprise works to foster diversity in the world of commerce with programs and policies intended to develop opportunities and eliminate barriers in the marketplace. Certification exposes firms to local and state government project opportunities. In order to be eligible for this certification, at least 51% ownership of the company must be socially and economically disadvantaged, which includes women, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans, and Subcontinent Asian-Pacific Americans.
