Laura Van Eperen of Van Eperen Public Relations, LLC (VE PR) has thirteen years of
communications experience working as a public relations (PR) executive and as a broadcast journalist. As the principal of VE PR, Van Eperen works with a cross section of government, corporate and nonprofit clients to develop and execute comprehensive communications outreach programs. Van Eperen’s areas of expertise include media relations, community relations, public affairs, corporate and crisis communications, strategic partner/alliance building, and marketing. Additionally, Van Eperen media/speaker trains corporate and association executives, elected and appointed officials, and develops business continuity/disaster preparedness plans for companies.
Prior to launching her own PR practice, Van Eperen served as a senior manager at PR agencies in greater Washington, DC and Milwaukee, WI. She has extensive strategic PR experience working with clients in both the public and private sector, including the following areas: economic development, energy, financial services/insurance, healthcare, housing, hotel/hospitality, information technology, manufacturing, performing arts, retail, senior living, and transportation. Further, Van Eperen has counseled leading manufacturing industry executives through national recalls, hosted national news conferences/events on Capitol Hill, launched public-private projects, and regularly coordinates interviews for clients with both the local and national news media. As a broadcast journalist, Van Eperen reported, anchored and managed local and statewide news operations in Colorado and Florida. Her stories appeared on CBS and NBC affiliates and CNN.
Van Eperen graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Journalism. She is a Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Board Member, the Chair of the MCCC Communications Committee, co-founder of the Young Professionals of Montgomery County, former Board Member to the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) – Washington chapter, and a member of the Rockville Kiwanis Club.
Van Eperen lives in Rockville with her husband, son and two dogs.
